Today, I listened to a live webcast for Story that was hosted on Story Unfolding. It provided some great insight to what is coming in October and served as a catalyst for my eagerness and excitement for this event. The speakers were a diverse group with such speakers as Pete Wilson, Ben Arment, Anne Jackson, Shaun Groves, Lee Steffen, and Natalie Grant, which at times was just entertaining here them interact. Shaun Groves was especially real during the session and open to things that concern him and make him vulnerable. One thing that continues to plague me is what will be my comfortableness at the event, since I will be most likely one of the few laypeople attending. Regardless if I do stand out or blend into the crowd I am going and I will participate what will surely be an exceptional, educational and entertaining event. But, my real hope is to walk away being inspired and energized with new ideas for sharing the Gospel and planting a church.

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009L.A.T.E. Ride
Sunday, July 13th, 2008Last night I did the Chicago L.A.T.E. Ride with a friend, John. The ride is 10,000 cyclists riding through Chicago’s neighborhoods on a 25-mile to benefit Friends of the Parks. The ride began at 1:38am at Buckingham Fountain. From the fountain the course went to Greek Town then Andersonville and west on Foster Avenue back to the lakefront path on Lake Michigan.
This was my first major physical exertion since having my surgery back in March and I was not sure what to expect. I actually felt great and really didn’t have a single issue, in fact the longer I rode the better I felt. The worse part of the ride was the numerous people that did not know or use riding etiquette, especially when passing in the crowd or coming to a quick stop. This ride actually served to inspire me to get back on my bike once again and more often.
Thanks John for inviting me.
Madelyn is here!
Sunday, June 8th, 2008| Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 11:05am our newest addition joined our family. She was 7lbs 11oz and 20.5″ long. The birth went really smoothly and both Mom and baby came through healthy and happy. She remained nameless most of the day until I was able to run a few of the names we had selected by BabyGirl Jones. After speaking to her we landed on the name that she was most responsive to, Madelyn Anne. So far, she is a happy baby that like to sleep and eat. |

Forgive me for this is moment of self-absorption. On the 4th of March I was awarded an MVP award for my work in 2007 as a team member of Tribune Interactive. The second award was for my work on the project that actually brought me to Tribune Interactive the Gen 3/CMS project. It was really cool to be recognized for my efforts just days before my surgery. Okay, back to normal. |

Em and I
Sunday, January 20th, 2008
Here is a picture I snapped of Em and myself at the Fun With Lips show. She is definitely the love of my life and continues to make me happy daily. She inspires me daily to remain positive, to continue to see the best in any situation, and amazes me at her abilities as a mother, which we will be putting to the test for the third time. Yep! She is pregnant with our third.
New Year’s Eve Love
Monday, January 7th, 2008
A new year and I get to face it with the woman I love.
Well, the cat is out of the bag!
Tuesday, August 7th, 2007I took a permanent position with Tribune Interactive a division of Tribune as Sr. Manager of Technical Production/Central Operations. I really enjoyed my time with the organization as a contractor and it became apparent that there was a good cultural fit for me there and plenty of challenges, which I enjoy tackling.Â
It is really funny how things work out; I was preparing to start my search for a new contract when this came together. To say that I am not nervous would be foolish talk. I have been contracting for years and this is a permanent position with a lot of responsibility. This opportunity has given me a little peace, as well as excitement for the next challenge in my career.
I saw Transformers
Thursday, June 28th, 2007
I saw a premiere showing of Transformers this evening and it was astounding. I was so worried that with all the hype and my excitement that it would end up a huge flop, but I am happy to say that my fears was left unrealized.
The movie was a complete thrill ride; that left me wanting more. The visual effects are flawless and the fact that the physics appear to be accurate throughout the action sequences make the film even more amazing.  Shia LaBeouf plays Sam a likeable quirky teen that happens upon Bumblebee. Though Shia did an incredible job in the end the show was stolen by the computer generated AutoBots. If I am honest with myself I was there to see some Autobots kick some Decepticon tail and there was a lot of that.
In case you are not sure how I feel about this movie or my recommendation, GO SEE IT. Buy your tickets now!
1 down 9 to go
Saturday, June 23rd, 2007This past week my team successfully deployed the first site, Orlando Sentinel, on Tribune Interactive’s platform. The launch went relatively smooth, in fact much better than I hoped. There were a few bumps, but the team did an incredible job of resolving issues as they arose. I am sure the remaining 9 sites will deploy smoothly with the team that I am fortunate enough to be managing.
Cubbies from Tribune Suite
Monday, June 11th, 2007
I attended the Cubs game this evening. The game was a first in a series versus Houston Astros. It was a
perfect night for a game and even better game to be viewing from a suite. Tribune honored my project team by setting us up in a Tribune Suite, which came will all the food, drinks and desserts you could devour. My goodness it was good.
It was great to see the Cubbies beat the Astos, 2 to 1 in a make up meeting. Zambrano helped solidify the game with a home run in the third. Zambrano pitched for eight innings and walked one, gave up three singles. An error led to the Astros’ only run in the eighth inning when the second baseman skipped a ball to the fist baseman.
Thanks to Tribune for treating the team.
